Welcome to GoGirlGolf!
This is a very exciting time for me! The introduction of my company to the world! O.K. maybe not the world but at least to all of those ladies out there who enjoy all of the great things golf has to offer.
Hopefully your introduction to the game was smoother than mine and if it wasn’t and you are now thinking twice about sticking with the game – read on. Quite a few years ago I was promoted to a management position in a company that could best be described as “male dominated”. Part of my initiation into the corporate world was finding out that the thing to do when you want to talk business is invite people to golf. Wow – my invitations to golf came fast and furious! That would have been fantastic for some but for a young woman who was building her career, wanting to make an impression, secure some solid business partners AND play golf at the same time, the idea was terrifying! I still remember playing my first game of golf with the vice president of our company with borrowed clubs, running shoes and clothes that just didn’t work on a golf course. These things coupled with the fact that I knew absolutely nothing about golf rules, etiquette or equipment made the whole experience one that I wasn’t sure if I wanted to repeat. Thank goodness I persevered, banded together with other women in the same predicament and found a fantastic instructor! I am still not a great golfer but do I ever have a lot of fun playing the game and meeting new people.
Last year I made a decision to leave the corporate world and venture into something new. After building and developing companies for other people I wanted to chart my own course and create my own company, to provide women with a variety of opportunities to participate in golf and to share their love of the game in a fun, welcoming atmosphere while cultivating valued personal and business relationships. Many of the events and business associates that helped me build a successful business career all revolved around my participation in golf. Whether it was building business relationships through corporate tournaments, having fun developing my skills with my friends or playing nine holes with my husband on a Sunday afternoon, golf provided long lasting memories for me, most of them great, some of them I’d rather not recall.
Gogirlgolf is a company dedicated to encouraging women of all ages and abilities to get involved by providing opportunities to learn, play and enjoy a lifelong involvement with the game leaving you with nothing but great memories of golf!
